Light Fixture Distance for Russian?

Hello,
I am getting an adult Russian tortoise on March 25th and we are beginning to build the enclosure. I was wondering what the best distance between the light fixture and the bottom of the enclosure is? I will be using a 100-watt ceramic heat emitter and a 100-watt mercury vapor bulb. Thanks- Lark

Only your thermometer can answer this question. The package of the MVB will have a general recommendation to start with, but use your thermometer to verify and adjust the height to get the temperature correct in your enclosure.

Temp gun will tell you surface temp under the bulb. Thermometer will give you the air temps. Both are good.
