I guess it depends if they are 50 grams or 50 lbs. I had one that I made from an old work bench on castors, I cut the table top out to fit a 50 gallon stock tank. The oval rubbermaid tank, it was supported by the top flange around the tank. the on the corners of the table you can place potted plants. It wouldn't work for 50 pounders though, maybe up to 8".

I'll see if I still have pics somewhere.

Hi Kyle:

Yeah...in this case, size DOES matter (size of the tortoise, that is). My Manouria aren't great wanderers, so you'd probably be able to get by with a temp smaller enclosure. When I got my first two they were about the size of a very large desert tortoise. The guy was keeping them in a tub about the size of one of those blue plastic kiddy pools. They seemed perfectly happy in there. They were very tame and not stressed by the small habitat at all.

How long is this temp situation going to last?

Only a few months and they are still very small 5-6 inches. Thinking a nice size table thinking 8x3 would be alright for temp

I would think that would be ok. Your main problem is going to be keeping it moist enough for them. They are very people oriented, so a smaller habitat doesn't seem to bother them as long as you interact with them occasionally.

Yeah. Well I use to have box turtles and they would lay eggs and I would raise the babies for a year some I kept. I had issues with humidity and moisture indoors, but have a technique that worked pretty well, consists of lots of soil 6-8inches deep moist all the way through, also want to try and make a Green house type cover for one end and I have a humidifier my friend gave me, plan to rig it so I can push humidity in, see how that will work. It's all temporary but going to make it good I already feel bad they are indoors
