Lots of great threads in the lighting section you might enjoy reading: http://www.tortoiseforum.org/forums/tortoise-enclosure-lighting.130/

There are many threads in various sections of the forum recommending keepers not use compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs like yours, however. This is the "coil" bulb type - it's not the actual shape that matters, but the type of bulb, and yours is a CFL like the coils. They come in several shapes: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_fluorescent_lamp

That was quick! Thanks! First of all I'll have to figure out why my post showed up in this section. I was trying to put it in RF section... Please forgive my being so "site illiterate":) Generally it takes me a while to get into it with lots of observing of how others do it and many mistakes later I eventually become an avid user. Please bear with me

The first link you included does not open but I will continue looking for/comparing the brands my local pet stores sell to ones recommended. It can be pretty overwhelming though for a new pet owner to walk into pet supply store with head full of information gathered through weeks of prior research, then what one sees on the shelves is boxes with colorful pictures... and lots of fine print to read. So much print, so little "shopping time" type of dilemma. The friendly staff of pet stores are just that! Friendly! But not really helpful. My baby torts get natural sunlight daily but I am anxious to get their nursery enclosures set up just the way I want them to be. I have lots of reading to do on this site navigation as well as to be able to post in the correct areas. Meanwhile I appreciate everyones patients while I learn all the ropes
