Looking into getting a iguana next summer do they need a car or hide? I looked and can't find any info, I have a few logs for climbing but don't know what to do about his hide or cave or do they sleep on the logs

Yeah, so Green Iguanas (as a species not a color variety) are for the most part tree dwelling lizards, spending little time on the ground. A place out of direct heat source that is thick with greenery (artificial or natural) would be more appropriate. Less that - then a hollow up off the cage floor would be good. If your cage has space higher than anyone that will be looking in, the iguana will climb higher, and feel safe without a hide.

Personally, I feel that all animals need some form of shelter. I have found that if a shelter is provided, they will use it. Now...something should be said for an iguana who does not (or rather, is not offered the option) of climbing and basking high in the branches for most of its day.

What Will suggested is a good idea.

Well they certainly don't need a car. :p

I never used hides or caves with my green iguanas. Just lots of thick branches and foliage.
