Whatever it is, it's cute. Are you raising them now or did someone dump them on your property? I would imagine, if anyone knew about all your torts, they would dump their unwanted off there.

Well after further review it doesnt have the serrated scutes that the asian turtles have. African helmeted turtle maybe?

Its a baby that doesn't have his pattern yet. Is the plastron bone color, or does it have dark patches on it. I'm going with 3-toe until I hear about the plastron...then, if it has dark patches or a dark plastron, I'm going with eastern.

This is a "COAHUILA BOX TURTLE", One of the top ten most endangered turtles on earth. No permits needed!

The TSA does not seem to list it, but it is endangered. Very cool. And where did you get them?

They belong to a friend of mine, Wayne Hill. Here is some more, he has a good breeding colony and does have hatchlings available for purchase.

Just like with any ESA listed animal, a bunch of people in Florida and California have them. Can't really do too much with them though, unless you like sending them as a gift to other keepers.......

The wonders of captive breeding, being stifled by political BS.........
