I thought tortise can not climb ?

Hi I thought tortises could not climb but mine is climbing all the time on top of its house and on top of plants it climbs on any think it can and if it can't it try and try till it can

Even if what they want to climb is a small tortoise sized groove in the side of their enclosure, and even at the cost of flipping themselves over.

Yes he did in fact flip him self over but I but him right side straight away

No one told me I just thought they could not but had my tortise flash for 2 days now and I can see they can climb

Russian tortoises are fantastic climbers. They love to climb.

Never really had my leopards climb, but my Russian, I have watched climb straight up a tree.

I have a spur thighed (testudo greaca)
And done lots of reasurch but never come across they could climb
But mine can deffnetly climb and he loves it

Oh no...you are very much mistaken. Tortoises are very good climbers.

it makes sense If you think they can't claim if you look at theythey don't actually look like climbers but if you own one you know they can and do climb and they had no fear about it

He is slightly disadvantaged though with his gammy leg so just gets himself stuck and looks like he's peeping over a fence.

I have a 60lb Manouria tortoise and when she's ready to build a nest, she tries (and sometimes succeeds) to climb her fence, looking for more nesting material.

More than once I've caught a 200lb aldabran tortoise trying to climb his fence. More often than not, though, instead of getting over by climbing, he breaks the fence and gets over.
