Antibiotics really shouldn't be prescribed unless they know exactly what kind of infection they are trying to fight off, and that would be determined bye a swab being sent in to find out what is wrong with the tortoise.. make sure your three temps are good. Ambient ( entire closure) . Basking spot . And cool hide. Make sure humidity is high.as for constipation you could go to walmart and get a small can of 100%pure pumpkin in the pie filling section. Mix a little in his food. He can't resist or. And if you are around tupelo there is an hispanic grocery store on main st right next too orielys and the tattoo shop , across the street from r&r tires. You can buy fresh cactus that is very benifical for him and is a natural laxitive. Just chop it into tiny pieces.

"Gone fishing" gave me this guy on Halloween for helping them care for the sulcatas while they were selling some. My ambient stays between 95 and 86. I created a closed chambers type enclosure with a cheap plastic poster board from Lowes. I keep a large heating pad under the cool side and his basking spot is stays between 110 and 115 degrees.. for substrate I like to use coco coir mixed with topsoil I buy from Phillips nursery(good stuff and only $2 for a large bucket)

Oh and pick up a 98 cent clay pot saucer from home depot. Best way to keep fresh water in his home without worrying about flip overs and it is actually low enough for I'm to crawl into unlike the decorative stone junk they sale at pet stores..

Ok I will pick some pumpkin up! And I read somewhere that plants may have pesticides on them! It doesn't have any right? Should I wash it? Would it be ok just to put the whole thing in her pin and let her eat on it when she wants?

They are so nice at gone fishing! I got a snake from them! We are there alot! I was going to get my sulcata from them but they didn't have any! On her hot side it stays 90 to 103 and I have her hide on that side and a under tank heater it's like 78 to 80ish on the cool side! Should I put under tank heater on cool side? And I am going to pick up some of that substrate tommrow! Should I wash it spray it or anything? How do I keep it moist enough without it being to humid! And how deep should i put it? I know they like to burrow

Oh yes the cactus is safe for him. It wouldn't hurt to wash it before he eats it. My substrate will dry out quickly. I will pour water from a pitcher into the corners of his enclosure and along the sides. This way the moisture will get under the substrate whithout having to completely drench the whole enclosure.. I will also make the surface area uneven . Provideing inclines and hills . One side of the enclosure will be about 4 inches deep while the other is 2.5 .I'll post a picture for you.
