What percentage of a Russian tort's diet can or should flowers make up? I feed my RT a varied diet that includes the leaves of several plants approved by the tortoise table. I occasionally let him eat the flowers too, though I try to keep to a minimum because I suspect they do not have as much nutritional value as the leaves and other greens.

I don't think it's a problem. A handful a day should be ok.

As part of a varied diet they're fine. Due to the nectar they can be high in sugars, so whike your tort will adore them giving them as the majority of the feed isn't agood idea. Use them as a garnish and if he starts turning his nose up at the healthy greens and holding out for flowers cut the flowers out completely for a while.

My crew seem to like seasonal variation. They will eat tremendous quantities of one type and then get bored and not want any of those for weeks.
