We got a horsfield tortoise eight months ago. I've noticed recently that his backbone is becoming quite pronounced. He's two years old. Is this okay?
My sister bought one at the same time from the same breeder. That has gained loads of weight very quickly. Ours is growing slowly and steadily and is much smaller. I only put food out in the morning for him but she leaves it out all day and tops it up. She also feeds it a range of mixed salad leaves but I thought salad would offer very little in nutrition? Any ideas. She says I'm underfeeding it and that things taken from the garden aren't filling it up enough - is this true? He does eat it!
