Hi all,
me again with yet another question. My Herman tort spends all of her time in her hide. It does not matter if she is in or outside. I have to wake her daily to get her to eat, but as soon as she is finished she heads back to her hide. She used to climb in her enclosure and enjoyed walking through her water dish but not anymore. Should I remove the hide during the day so she is more active. I realize this is not possible when she is outside as she needs shade but whilst she is inside when the weather is not great?
Thank you
Monika

What type of lighting in the enclosure? What substrate, Can you explain the habitat including temps and humidty you have your little ones in?

The lightning is a UVB bulb and a heat lamp. The temperature is between 75c and 80c. The substrate is coconut bark. I have turned the temperature down a little to see if that makes a difference but she has not come out again today.
