Hi all - I'm Holly and I collected a little baby Hermann today totally in love and I am pretending it's a she! I have called her Willow

What are everybody's thoughts on humid hides? So much conflicting information!

Humid hides are a must.
Somewhere the tortoise feels safe and secure and with a high humidity for its well-being.
A plastic plant pot or cut plastic tub work better than wood, in my opinion.
Some use just the warm moist substrate while others add something like sphagnum moss to help with humidity.
Examples shown in the closed chambers thread, I think.

I shall attach photos of set up for feedback.

Lighting - 10% uvb strip (30cm from substrate as per instructions)
60w basking bulb

Temps - 33 basking & 21-22 cool end

Do you think humid hide is ok where it is or should it be in the cool end?

Oh and substrate is 100% coconut coir & have grown an abundance of weeds prior to her arrival but she does have some lambs lettuce in the picture xx
