Yesterday night I was out in my yard looking for some crickets for my 2 pet tarantulas, and I saw a snake,

I think it might have scaped or got thrown out, because I live in the city, all we see here are brids.

I appreciate your help.

I am sorry for the poor quality, I will take more pictures using a better camera later, kind of in a hurry right now.

Looks to me like some kind of king snake . He would help if I knew where you live or the area found .

Where are you?

The pattern looks like a king snake, but the head is not quite right. I can't tell if its the pics or an optical illusion or what.

Now in this picture his head is black. In the other picture it looked yellow. That was what was throwing me. Not a short-tail like I previously thought because in this picture you can clearly see a long pointy tail. Probably a Coastal banded California King.

I can't ID your snake but I don't think it is Lampropeltis. You should handle with caution. Mexico has lots of odd rear fanged snakes.

Thank you very much guys !!

I thought the only venomous snakes in Mexico were the rattle and coral snake...and took it with my hand !!

It says mildly venomous . No harm to people . Some swelling and itching . But I bet it's not good for children or the old to get bitten by one . I would think it depends on allergic reaction.
