Hello there all
This week my daughter became the very proud owner of Sidney - a Hermanns tortoise (see pics). Thing is, I've looked at the diagrams/photos HermanniChris posted in the Hermanns forum & I'm not sure if it's a boetteri or hercegovinensis - can anyone help?
MAny thanks
P:)

Welcome! Cute tortoise! The experts would need to see the plastron. Can you please post a picture? Thanks.

Hi Aldabraman & Jabuticaba
Thanks for the tip Jabuticaba - as a newbie, I've only just been allowed to post to the Hermanns forum (which I've just done). I'll add another photo there of the plastron...and don't tell anyone, but I had to look up what "plastron" was;)
Thanks again
P

We've all had to look stuff up. Don't be afraid to ask. The one stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Welcome aboard

You're welcome, Peter! I'm May. :)

You'll learn lots here and don't hesitate to ask questions. The people here are really nice. I've had my 2 TH Boettgeri for 1 yr and they're doing great, thanks to the great guidance I've received from this forum. :)

Hi Peter, and welcome to the Forum!

I recognize my limitations...I'm not good at I.D.ing the Testudo tortoises. Let's give a shout out to @HermanniChris

I answered in your other thread too, Sid def looks to be boettgeri but I need a plastron shot to rule out hercegovinensis. Definitely not hermanni hermanni.

Hello again all!
Many thanks for your warm welcome & your help - I've just taken another couple of pics (see attached), but I'll also do the same in the Hermanns Tortoise forum - perhaps the discussion there may help others in the future. Thanks again
Cheers & as they say here - buona domenica (have a nice sunday:))
