Hello,
I´m a member of the forum since several time and did my first posting a couple of weeks ago. Nevertheless, until now I haven´t introduced myself to you, so I would like to make up on this now.
My name is Hans and I´m from Germany where I live in a small town north of Munich. I own 2.3 (respectively 1.4, I´m not yet sure about the smallest one) South African Leopard Tortoises.
If you are interested, all my tortoises are direct offspring of animals imported from South Africa. The parents of my two males (respectively one male/one female) have been imported many years ago by a vet specialised in reptiles and also a dedicated tortoise keeper and breeder himself. The three females are direct offspring from animals imported from South Africa by a well-known European zoo.
During the warmer period (end of March/April to October, sometimes early November) they live in a greenhouse with direct access to the southern and eastern part of my garden (about 400 sqm.). During the colder period the live in a “terrarium” of about 36 sqm. in the attic of my house which they share with a pair of Chondrodactylus bibronii.
So, that´s it for now, I wish all of you a happy and successful year 2017, and have a lot of fun with your animals!
Best regards
Hans
