Growth?

Apologies if this has been covered before but I'm new to this forum. I need some help identifying what is going on with our little horsefield tortoise, as you will see from photo there is a black growth from under tail. Please advise, thanks Celine

Does that black spot go back inside or does it stay out all the time? It may be a prolapsed penis. Don't allow it to dry out, and take the tortoise to the vet.

It might also just be some poop. Don't be afraid to give the tortoise a close inspection.

Thanks Yvonne, it's definitely not poop. I've bathed her/him ?? very regularly since I saw it and I think you are probably right about prolapse, off to the vet in the morning, thanks again, celine
