good places to buy turtles?

i'm planning on buying a southern painted turtle and i need to know a cheap reliable place to get one. i heard turtle shack was a bad place to buy turtles,is this true?

You are right about turtleshack and turtle sale they are the same company.

It depends on your location. You might be able to find a local breeder or even a local turtle rescue who can point you in the right direction.

ok,im going to petsmart this week to buy a tank and if they have a turtle i want there i'll get it,if not then i'll go to kingsnake.com

How is the one at petsmart? Their turtles are'nt usually good. Sometimes you get lucky and find a good one there. Hope you are lucky!

i dunno what kind of turtles they have at my local petsmart,im just gonna look for a turtle that i know alot about.
