Hey everyone.

So my little Otto (1 year old) eats like a monster.

I make him a 'salad' of spring mix/collard green/mustard greens/romaine lettuce along with the weeds and grass he gets on his daily grazings.

However, he eats and never stops and I'm wondering when is enough?

I've heard some people who feed them once a day, and others who think that at this age they should eat all that they want too.

I'm wondering when or if I should limit the intake of food he's getting?

Thanks!

For a tortoise there is no such word as enough.

Rose eats all the time too. She rarely wastes anything.

You cut them back if they are getting fat. Not if they are growing. What you are seeing is a typical sulcata. They can really put the food away. I once wanted to see just how much they could eat so I went and bought a whole bunch of big heads of romaine. I had three sulcatas that were 10-12" at that time and they ate 9 heads in a few minutes like it was nothing. I thought about giving them more, but I didn't want them to pop. They immediately walked away from the empty tray and started grazing on the weeds in their pen...
