first vet visit: what to expect

Now you know what to expect from a vet visit. $300.
It's always $300. (Give or take)
My last visit, last week was only $260 and I made a joke to my wife about my "discount".
Sure enough, when I went to go pick up my tortoise from the surgical procedure, I was informed that there would be another $30 charge for extra anesthesia....

Yike! You have the wrong vet! For Ronan's first visit -- exam, x-rays and fecals -- my vet charged me $58. For his follow-up, which was just an exam to make sure I'm on the right track with him, he charged me $38.
