Is it super stressful for turtles to be outside when fireworks are going off?

Not usually. Fireworks go off after dark when the torts that live outdoors have cooled down and are largely unaware of anything else. Those indoors don't know they have gone off either.
My neighbors have set off a few the past few evenings before my torts have retired for the night and it seemed like they didn't even notice.
Mine could care less! Unless there's rain with the loud noises they don't even notice!
