This bush is in our backyard and I'm not sure what it is? Just wondering if I need to remove it or barricade it off from the little one?

Don't know but I would not trust it.
Hope you can get an ID on it from someone else, but don't take any chances.

It's being eaten by something, maybe some kind of insect or worm.

I honestly don’t like the look of it!

Which is a horrible reason to pull a plant—it’s probably fine—but I understand some sulcatas will eat anything. I don’t think I’d leave it there.

Do the flowers produce single berries that change from deep red to very dark purple?

And where do you live? Is this a weed or does it look more like a “planted” plant? I might check around up here, but I can’t without proper information.

I’ll check the berries when I get home but we’re in North East Texas. It’s definitely a planted plant but nothing I’m familiar with.

I feel dumb just realizing this but this plant is a vine not a shrub... not sure if that helps but it’s definitely got me completely stumped

Well, if it is Evergreen wisteria, it’s in the legume family. Legumes are okay occasionally but I can’t find squat about it as tortoise food. Not much about it at all, actually. I can find medicinal use but not food use: http://www.pfaf.org/User/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Millettia+reticulata.

It might be fine for tortoises but I personally won’t feed things that I can’t find any mention of as human or animal food!

Did I hear my name?
Agree that must be Milletia, but I do not know it first hand.
Most members of the "pea" family should be viewed with suspicion; after checking my references I can tell you there are no reports of human or animal poisoning from this one.
