Aloha, my 4 year old has some extra deep scute lines. Is the normal or the beginning of shell rot?

That is indicative of using the wrong heat sources. Does this tortoise have a heat lamp or a CHE in its shelter?

Looks way too dry and what Tom said.
Let us know the enclosure size, lights, heat, humidity, diet, etc!

I live in Haiku maui.

High of 90
Low of 65-70.
Humidity is usually between 50-70%.but we did just come off of rainy season.

No heat source in shelter. Plenty of full sun most days and multiple shade spots.
He has two houses.

Soak warm water once a week for 30mins to and hour as long as he wants to stay in.

Diet is mostly grass in the 30x30 pen. I supplement with a mix of tortoise blend mazuri and fluker buffet blend twice a week. 1 cup softened.

What we are seeing in the pics is usually seen with dry conditions and/or desiccating heat sources that are too close.

Are the edges of the scute 'flaky'? I can see that as being caused by a fungus.

Not flaky. It looks like tile missing grout. Which would be the white growth lines. I will increase the soaks and put out a few
More Water sources. Thanks for the help.
