Dead tortoise

My tortoise has died I just found him in his enclosure .. He was okay yesterday.. I noticed a few days ago he seemed to be acting weird and now I found him limp ... I tried to soak him but nothing happened ... He was eating and everything

Don't bury him yet. Leave him a couple days. A member on here also found their tort limp and unresponsive and just as they were about to bury it... It moved!

Bobby. I had a very "DEAD" and limp tortoise (Also a Redfoot) come back around after 24 hours.
DO NOt bury him just yet.
I won't be too surprised to hear that this morning you found him alive and alert. I hope that that is the case.............
Never bury a limp, dead tortoise for at least 48 hours I.M.O.
I could even touch the open eyeball of my dead tortoise and it didn't blink, etc.
Now she's still alive.

Any idea why some tortoises appear dead then seem to be ok later? I hope this was the case with this tortoise.

A few days ago we had to euthanize our little hatchling - but it was a few weeks in coming. I hope for a miraculous come back for you, but share the other posters in condolences. We know how you feel, hang in there!

not to sound morbid but honestly I wouldn't. Wouldn't bury a limp tortoise naturally ir rigor mortis sets in then bury
