This is a picture of my young male cuora mouhotii. His name is "quick." He lives in improved cage built for rabbits...but I turned it into a turtle habitat complete with live plants, cypress mulch, hides, etc....all the turtle stuff.:D

Hi JacksonR:

(Did we ever learn your name?)

Don't tell me they've been fooling around with names again. I'm used to pyxidea...I don't like cuora! Oh well...who am I?

If my winters were milder, I would have mouhotii. I think they are just the prettiest things ever. I had a big male here through the rescue that I adopted out about two years ago and he had so much personality. He made a believer outta' me.

Your turtle is very pretty. Thanks for sharing.

I just have one question:
Where did you get a turtle as awsome as that?
I want one!!!!

As I child I loved Gamara, a Japanese monster rival of Godzilla. This guy looks like a tiny Gamara. Ok I have to surpress my inner child.

The more I look up these turtles the more interesting I find them.
Is there an active captive breeding program for them?

I would love to learn more about them.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you like him, and what i've done to the cage. My name's Jackson Roe btw.

I know a couple of people who breed them. Not much going on with them though. If you keep an eye on fauna classifieds you'll see a mouhotii ad eventually. :D
