Bump Behind Head

My sulcata has a bump behind his head on his shell that's the only part of his shell that isn't completely flat and smooth. Do you have any idea what that might be from?

I bought him from a pet store in Sept. He had it when I bought him. It has seem to have gotten smaller since he has grown a lot since I've had him.
