So, I got tired of Rocky bulldozing her plants. I mean, obviously she enjoys doing it, and its all about her, but the idea was to recreate a rain-forest for her, and that means living, growing plants. I tried placing large rocks around them, which just made it more fun for her. This afternoon I made this, and we'll see how well it works.

Obviously it was inspired by those thingies tomatoes grow in. Its made from a scrap of 3 Inch PVC Conduit (Imagine... an Electrician having a piece of that laying around).
If it seems to work I have some ideas on how to make a prettier version, maybe cut the bottom off a clay pot. Ideally I suppose if it really works well you won't even see it so it won't matter what it looks like.

What else have folks come up with to stop our little bull dozers?

Cool idea, I hope it works! That poor plant looks like it's taken a beating from Rocky. You could also try larger plants in their own pots.

My babies are young enough that medium clay pots are enough of a barrier for now. The plants in my big indoor habitat were also in bigger, heavier pots as well.

However, if I was doing a bioactive substrate again, I would probably do something like that!

Electrician!?.. any ideas of coming to the Dallas area for a vacation/work on Josh's projects? :D

That is a very good idea! Here's hoping it works and Rocky doesn't just bulldoze it.

LOL I'd love to Josh, the thought has actually crossed my mind to go travelling and stop off and visit all of my buds on here to learn from them firsthand , wiring as I go I'm sure.

Money and Kids will prevent this for some time to come however. Darn shame though, I bet kickin' back with some brews (assumin he partakes) listening to Tom's stories would be AWESOME! LOL

I'm fairly certain if she chose to Rocky could still push what I made over, but so far she hasn't LOL

I do partake from time to time, but the money and kids thing is a pretty big hindrance for me too.
