I agree...it does get confusing. My three toed has some gulf coast mixed in as well. She was captive bred from parents that originally were wild caught. They looked mostly three toed and had three toes on the back feet, but were darker in color than most three toeds and were larger than three toeds. Mom was 7" SCL and dad was 5.5" SCL. So far my juvenile has already caught up to dad in size! She looks totally three toed, but is big and unlike her parents has 4 toes on the back instead of 3.

I wanted to say I saw something on Kingsnake.com about different state laws. I could be wrong but I want to say that is where I saw them. Here in Texas the Parks and a Wildlife Dept handle licensing. It can be confusing here as well . Good luck to you on your new ownership.
