Hi,

This afternoon I discovered that one of my Russian tortoises had a bleeding eye/ eyelid. I think it was possibly caused by the other tortoise they live with but am not sure. Anyway, due to the current situation with Covid-19 seeing a vet isn’t really an option. So, I cleaned up the scrape with a damp cotton bud and have separated the two of them. (A picture of the wound after I cleaned it is shown below). I am just looking for any advice about what to do.
Any help is much appreciated.

Do you have just two? They should never live in pairs, and Russians are so scrappy that even groups don't work sometimes and females will fight too, unlike most other species where females tend to be less prone to fighting than males.

I think your treatment and separating them was the right course of action. I see no need for a vet.

This most probably WAS done by the other tortoise. I've seen female russians with their eyelids bitten off by the males during the breeding preliminations.
