I've attached a picture of my Russian the day she was brought home from PetSmart. Then, I've attached a picture of her from about a week ago. Her shell has come a long way! I'm so proud!

Amazing what a little time, right conditions and a lot of love can do!

Thanks for all the positive feedback! The part of her shell closer to her head is still a little dry and flaky, but it's getting there. We've had her two months now and it's amazing how much time my daughter and I spend with her. She's such a wonderful addition to our family!

She's gorgeous! I'm also in the process of getting my torts shell a little more hydrated. Any tips? You did awesome!

Thanks! I think patience and perseverance are the key. I give her a bath 2 to 3 times a week for 20 to 25 minutes, frequently scooping the water over the top of her. I also lightly run a soft toothbrush over her shell - it helps get the dirt off and also helps remove the old flaking parts of her shell.
