so i've been toying with the idea of getting a bearded dragon for a while i finally decided im going to but first i wanted to get a nice cage designed and set up

the cage is 2w 30h 48L i bought a sheet of foam insulation at lowes and cut it out to make ledges before laying layer after layer after layer of grout on it to make a hard rock covering then i put a non toxic acrylic sealer on it this is how it looked just before the foam was grouted

enclosure 1.jpg

and this is how it looks grouted and sealed don't mind the white at the bottom that's the sealer as it was still drying, im going to give it a couple weeks to fully dry and cure before going dragon hunting

this is the first time i've done sliding glass doors that actually look good and function without problems normally can't get it squared so it gives me hope for future tortoise enclosures lol

I'd love to see more detail on how you did the sliding glass doors.
i just used a square to make sure it all came up flush

and i used one of these as a track but mine is 1/4 http://www.lowes.com/pd_55981-37672-11385___?productId=3058185&pl=1&Ntt=aluminum+channel

it's aluminum channel for plywood but works great and has a smooth slide. i just used 1 8ft track cut in half for top and bottom and put the plexi in, it works really well and i'll be doing it for a new tortoise enclosure to.

well i finished it everything is all dried and cured and enclosureee.jpg enclosurerrr.jpgi feel i went a bit to orange for the rock look tho. nothing in there yet gotta get lights and stuff first. i think i had more fun building the enclosure then going and looking at animals lol it's kinda ugly but this was completely new to me with the foam and painting it

If your dragon is as dumb as mine was you may have to deal with it trying to eat the red rock. I have an old heat rock that I cut the cord off of and he used to chew on that thing every other day forgetting it wasn't food. The design is super awesome though, I can't wait to see the new inhabitant. I miss my beardie something aweful.
