So his bottom jaw is not growing out like it should huh? Even with another beak trim, would the bottom beak ever meet with the top? Yes, it is a bit long. Looks like you are going to have to do trims often.
Are you feeding him on a flat stone or piece of slate? If not, please do. It helps keep the beak filed down. My Leo is almost two and has always eaten from a piece of flag stone and his beak is perfect.
That's what I am seeing an overbite, which because the two beaks don't match the top beaks gets no wearing and grows too long. I don't think the feeding surface would be enough of a solution.
hmmm i have a simple solution,
let him eat cuttlebone,over grown beaks happened because the tortoise didn't exercised, you can give cuttlebone and they will eat it, and scrape the beak naturally
I had to have my rescued Russian's beak trimed at the vet because the upper was so long she looked like a bird. I now give her fresh cuttle bones all the time and she eats and drinks from terra cotta dish's and its help'd to some point.
