I'm picking up my 9 month old Hermann tortoise in a week and just getting all the temperatures right in the indoor enclosure.

I have a UVB light and a 60watt basking light but the basking spot is only getting upto 25degree Celsius and aiming for the recommended 35. Ive also tried a 60watt ceramic heater and this did the same. What are people using? do I need to up the wattage?

Thanks! Kay.

Lower them a little. I would return the CHE and not get anything less then 100. You can also try putting a flat piece of rock under the basking. Just make sure you take the temp of the rock so it's not too hot and burns him.

I've lowered the light as low as I can safely. I will try a 100w. Thanks :)
