Make them a outside pond like this . Then the only thing you have to do is feed them . Plus you will have to clean the water once a month .

Mike .. [ and anyone who will listen ] .. I would get rid of those "plastron-scraping" rocks and slate etc.

I realize you went to great time and expense to create that.. however given the choice to live among rocks or tree bark I'm sure any turtle would be happier sliding back into the water on wood.

Not condeming.. just my experience for 30++ years .. keeping water turtles.
