Are my tortoises male or female?

Hi, I have two horsefield tortoises they are just over a year old, i don't know if you'll be able to tell by these pictures if they are male or female.

at a year old their still too young, they need to be approx 4-5inch before you can tell for sure. There's a good thread on determining the sex pinned to the top of the Russian section that's well worth a read if you haven't seen it already.

They will need to be min. 4 inches before any reliable sexing, they have small tails, which could indicate female, prob. is, at that size they all look female. sorry.

They're just little guys Try again in a few years, when they're about 5''. You should be able to get them sexed accurately then
