male or female

hi, i was just wondering if anyone can tell me if the first is a female and the second russian is a male or female, i know they are a little small but i think the last pic is going to be a male, they are around 4inches. also the first russian always hangs her tail out, and the second one almost always has his/her tail sideways i dont know if that makes a difference.

hey well its mainly the size to me it looks as if u have two females, The males tail are much more slinder and enlongated.

This is the very thread that caused me to doubt the sex of my own Russian tortoise; it also caused me to post up pictures of my own with the exact same question. What confuses me is that I'm getting an overwhelming consensus that my tort is female, but its tail is longer than the one shown here. I've got a lot to learn about sexing....
