Wow. Impressive animals. Do you breed them? Whats the measure in your biggest adults?

I used to occasionally see these in the fish trade here in the states. Those are some nice looking adults.

My adults range from 6-10ft in length did not weigh them !!

There's 18 of them I keep as adults and that number keep changing - babies or juvenile that escape the net I drag thru their "pond " , escape their parents mouth and grow up !!

I harvest about 1000 to 2000 tail of 3-6" every year from my shoal . ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1412199917.586559.jpg

Enjoy

Neat! Where did you take those pictures?

My dad's cousin used to raise them. He helped restore some of the local population in our area, back in the early 80s. I got to hand feed some young ones, when I was a kid.

I've caught a few pacus in my lifetime. Bony buggers, but deleeeesh when deep fried whole and served with cassava flour and pico de gallo. Now I'm hungry!

Food ? For me , never tried one before , most if not all go to the pet trade . Any surplus as " food" for my other pets - caiman , crocodiles , alligator snapping turtle or my giant soft shell turtle ........
