You could put basically anything okay for turtles. Slate, gravel, or gravel with a layer of slate on top. See what others say though.

June has no bottom just stacked wood coming out I the water so they can climb up. I could constructed a floor and put sand soil mix or something of that matter but ill do that in my bigger tank not this smaller 40

I am building one to have mare space. I had stacked rocks and a platform that has stairs to get up on.

Maybe fill it with soil, and put some plants or grass on the ramp so he gets any stray soil swiped off.
