A little race to the bottom on Powersun's at Amazon.

Not entirely a repost, but I couldn't think of any better place to post this. I've been watching Zoomed Powersun 100 Watt prices for the past couple weeks because I'll need one soon. Because a lot of sellers are vying for top spot in the marketplace ranking, the price on these guys has dropped about $5 in the past 4 days. Not a crazy amount, but at $40 bucks a pop even a little bit helps.

Hopefully the price will go down a little more... at any rate, it beats having to shell out $60 to get one at Petco.

I was wondering if these get too hot in a dome fixture. I have been thinking about adding one of these.

I use a dome fixture and it works just fine. Just use a ceramic base.

To be honest, Powersun's are not nearly as hot as MegaRays, even at the same wattage.

My last one was bought on eBay. It burned out after about a month Was suppose to be new, but in not handled right, life could be shortened. I guess the shipping alone could ruin them also.

Prices have gone even cheaper! $35.74.

I bought mine at 39 and when the price dropped I complained. It took some work, but I got them to refund my $3. Totally worth it

Ha!? My Petco sells them at $95, I don't think they've sold more than one in the 5 months since they started carrying them!

I just bought a Powersun 100 W UVB Lamp. In the instructions, it says to always use a screen between the animal and the light but doesn't that block the UV rays?

That doesn't really matter if the tortoise can't reach it. They usually have those warnings in for people who have lizards and other animals that can climb.
