A little computer help, please (with my picture program)

I have Windows XP.

I was trying to move quite a few pictures from "My Pictures" to the recycle bin and the computer keeps making duplicates. It moves the original to the recycle bin, but it puts a duplicate back into My Pictures. I'm up to 45 duplicates now of about 30 pictures. That's way more than I want to have in my computer. How do I make it stop making duplicates?

I have that problem when I try to click each pic to be removed to quick, the answer that works for me, is to slow down. Not only happens to me when removing, but also when opening a lot at one time. Len
