The other day I ran across an add for Sri Lankins stars for sale. The breeder/owner is Jensen Dulli if that rings any bells. Any who he is out of Orlando Florida and he has three sris left and is asking $280 with shipping for each one. They are almost yearlings. Here's my first feeling wow that's a great price but don't Sri yearlings go for around 700..... It sounds fishy but I didn't know if anyone has had dealings with this breeder before. Also I have three pictures I will upload of the torts later when I'm on a computer to see if the pics are duplicates or stolen. I'll also post our conversation as well. I just want to be safe because I've been scammed many times before I enter a hobby. So lemme know what yall think.

No, Sri Lankan Stars do not go for $700 unless they have size on them........Anywhere between $200-$400 depending on who you get them from......

They are about 4 inches. So you would say it's a pretty good deal? Or could I get them cheaper? They are high yellows. Also what is good website to base their diet off of?

Hi,
Thanks for your kind interest in wanting to provide our little

tortoises a good home. We are looking for a family that is ready and

willing to rotten spoil them with love and attention. We are expats

from Colorado currently working here in Orlando, FL. My term of job contract ends

here in 3years, So we thought would be best to find a perfectly

family for this tortoises.

Have you any experiences in looking after one?
Do you have enough time at hand?
Will you be there always to ensure they stay healthy?

Asking fee pair tortoise is $280 with delivery inclusive depending on

your area of location. We are located at Orlando,FL. Where about your

location?

Sorry for the questioning but that's just the best possible way we

know who is ready to give this little cuties a perfect home. Once we

get an answer we shall be able to decide from there.
Thanks.

Hello my name is Austin,

I will begin by stating that I have over ten years of breeding ornate
box turtles and rehabilitating some to return to the wild at one point
I had over 50 rescues. I am now 21 and I'm looking for a life long
friend, I have worked with russian's, greeks, red foots, and sulcutas.
About 2yrs of experience with that. I'm extremely strict when it comes
to feeding....making sure that tortoise is getting the closest to
natural diet that they would get in their environment. I've gone as
far as ordering native plants that they would eat in their diet. As
for working with the stars, I have always wanted a few friends back in
my home town had them and they intrigued me. So the answer is no i've
never had one. As far as time comes whenever I'm not working or in
class (applied physics major at ASU) i'm at the house tending to all
of my
animals....Most people worry when I say I have dogs....but the
tortoise enclosure will have it's own yard to bask in for portions of
the day until it becomes and adult. When i'm at work or school, my
fiancé is home taking care of the animals, so at no time would they
ever be alone. As far as diet goes what do you have the cb hatchlings
on ( time of feeding ...etc easier on tortoise when transferred to new
home. Also do you have a picture of the mother and father Star and
their enclosure....i'd really like to see them. If you have any
further questions you can contact me at ....

Hello, thank you very much for the vivid description of your self, and i really want to say i am more than glad to pass on this Tortoise to you, Please let me know if you would like to take all of them or just one, like i said before the asking fee per tortoise is $280 with delivery inclusive, so please let me know if you will be able to go in for all of them.

Also kindly email me your complete delivery information as it is below, so that i can start making arrangement for their delivery as soon as possible, inorder for them to get home to you soonest.

Required Delivery Information.
Full names?
Home address?
Post code?
Phone/cell number?
Closest airport?
And if you would want to pick up the tortoise from the airport or have them delivered to your home?

These information would be helpful in the reservation process.
Upon arrival , a delivery agent will give you a call so there should be somebody at home to welcome the tortoise . I am looking forward to giving them a good home with the lowest affordable fee. My main concern is the home he will be moving into.

It's a scam. I know who took some of those pictures originally, and it wasn't this Jenson Dulli person.

The verbiage is almost verbatim of any scammer I have ever spoken with.

Try calling him and see what happens.

$280 with delivery included...guarantee this is a scam. Good thing you inquired here.

Scam. It's a response you also get if you have an ad up on CL looking for Star Tortoises/breeder in your local area.

Honestly Sri lankan stars sell between $400-500 as hatchlings...I haven't seen a true and honest ad for one for $200 or thereabouts especially a yearly. I am a proud owner of 10 of them:) so glad you posted on here to hear comments from others... Good job Neal for catching that one.

Yeah this is a total scam. For a yearling sri lankan your looking at at least 400 and anything lower than that is a flat out steal.

Sounds like a smart scammer. The bad English is a giveaway and the information he asks is similar to other scammers.
