Hi guys, its been a while since the last time i posted, but here are the updates as off the last time, champoi has been doing pretty well since last update, the weather here is beginning to worsen lol, the sun hasn't shown itself for quite some time, no direct sunlight, but temps never fall below 60degrees, i havent actually been soaking him for the whole time because he might end up being cold after it, he seems fine tho, although his shell seems to be getting dirty by the carapace specially the back part, but otherwise, he's doing good, altho at his age, i need your opinion on possible,inexpensive calcium supplement. I also noticed that he seems to like walking around his enclosure lately, as if trying to find something lol, and he seems easily spooked lately, ever since i took him with me on a trip, about an hours drive. Is driving bad for tortoises? Other than that everything is ship shape. I hope lol. Will be providing pictures later.

For the cheapest calcium source I would suggest cuttlefish bone.
Some torts eat it by themselves, others won't touch it but if you scape a little onto their food they'll eat it.
Some tortoises do seem to hate being driven and get frightened, they may pooh and pee in distress.
i don't think some lie being taken out of their enclosure, their comfort zone either if that's all they're used to.
I'm sure he'll soon settle down again.

Ohh yes hi, thankyou, if thats the case its pretty much covered, he has a cuttlebone on his enclosure, but i take it out about twice a week, and yea he seems to eat it regularly, i was worried that cuttlebone might not be enough, but guess i was wrong, thankyou

Should be fine alongside a balanced, nutritious diet.
Some members use a calcium supplement as well.

Right now his diet consists only of water spinach, but im thinking of giving him some hibiscus leaves as they are pretty accessible here, as well as cactus pads, i did have the luxury of feeding him these pellets i forgot the name, but i was told that it was specifically formulated for torts, will be updating again once i get a hold of the new food items lol.

Another free / cheap source of calcium would be egg shells ! I crush them up and sprinkle them over Speedy's Mazuri when I think of it , usually once a week !

Its mazuri pellets, i used to feed him mazuri pellets, check his face out in the photo, that photo was taken after he was finished stuffing his face with mazuri pellets, he's ashamed cuz he know's he's fat hahaha.
