    First baby to hatch

I do have one more egg in the incubator. I don't think it is fertile. However, Im pretty sure one of my other females is graved as well. I incubated the egg at 86 F and 80 % humidity after a three week diapause at 72.

    Help in pancake care

I do the same soak once every 1-2 weeks. I do keep a water dish in the tank at all times. I use a chicken waterer ( the smallest one they sell) If the water runs out all five of my pancakes will be up on the glass waiting for me to refill it. My thought has always been if they want water that...

    pancake egg question

Much to my surprise one of my females laid her first egg today. I did not think I would see eggs until next year. After reading a few articles it looks like I should use vermiculite for incubation substrate. However I am having a hard time finding it this time of year. Has anyone use...

Anyone keeping Manouria emys phayrei in the north?

From what I have been told ( by Vic Morgan ) there is at least one MEP keeper that has hibernated his tortoises for over 10 years. I was just wondering if anyone else could confirm that it would be safe to do so.

Thanks, most of the time they are at the Cleveland reptile show. I hate just buying from the show with out knowing more about who hatched them and how they were cared for. Thanks,Bob

    How sensitive are stars????

Humidity is one of my big concerns. The room they would be housed in during the winter is my "turtle room" I have a few large 125 gallon tanks in the room so the humidity stays around 50-60%. I can heat the star tank with a ceramic element and a t-stat so the humidity would be lower in the...

I am in northern Ohio so they would have to be indoors for a large part of the year. Can anyone give me there opinion on how difficult they...
