I know you have said Leopard Tortoises shouldn't have friends but......
I placed a fake (real looking) tortoise in Nommie's outdoor enclosure to trick a cat that's been in the area. I do not let Nommie outside without supervision. :) and yes the decoy has worked. That cat is miffed. Nommie is...
I recently moved from Arizona to California. Excited that my lil NomNom would finally love in an environment where it's naturally humid. She seemed to be in heaven. Until the other day I noticed she was acting really shy, dipping into her shell very quickly. Then I stated to notice her storage...
First off can my leopard eat oranges? She's picky!!! All she wants to eat is chards and mustard greens and cilantro. She refuses everything else. Well the occasional strawberry is a treat.
Next question. I live in Arizona. I made my lil tort a outdoor arena. How do I keep her humid outside...
Hello everyone, I need help. NomNom was just throwing up. I didn't know this was possible. :(
She's is a closed chamber in the evening and night.
Substrate is coconut fiber
60-80% Humidity. I'm in Arizona :-/
80 degrees for temp
She soaks 2 times a week. She's very active and is...
Last summer I bought Nommie at my favorite local pet store. I've been shopping at this pet store since I was a very little girl. First off, I now know its not really a good thing to buy our torts from a pet store but.... I have this need to rescue them all from the dry, poor lighting, hay...
With my new enclosure I've noticed my Lil Nommie has become Very active! So active she jumps off the top of her den and goes for more. I hate this! She sometimes flips over and goes right back at it. Did I mention I hated this behavior? It seems like I can't feed her enough. Is there a limit to...
I have my 1 yr old leopard growing fast and with everything I have taken in I decided to build a closed chamber to help keep the humidity(I live in az) and heat just right. Theres a whole drilled out of the bottom left side for the humidifier hose above that on top will be the UV lamp. I'm...
I changed the substrate to the coconut type stuff mixed in a little bit of her old type bark substrate. At first Nommie seemed as though she enjoyed it, rubbing in it and such. My humidity issue is now stable at 80%, everything seems great and then- I notice she doesn't really explore as much...
I changed her substrate to that coconut fiber. I think she's eating it. I'm building a table but that's a process. For now I'm just trying to do my best. The hose is her humidifier that drips into her pool. I had to build up to the top because she kept climbing up and making me worry...
So apparently NomNom climbed up her Lil den today and got down ok. I wasn't home for this, I heard the news when I came home. Is it safe for her to be climbing? I can't imagine her acting like a Lil monkey!
Be gentle with the comments I'm learning as I'm reading here. I'm building a table Sunday. But for now what do you think? Leopard tort less than a year old. I love in az. I don't have a coil light. I do bath her every other. I keep that heat lamp on 24/7.
I just bought the humidifier...
Thanks to everyone and their experiences and knowledge, this weekend I will attempt to make a turtle table! Leopard torti parents, I'm looking for any advice in how to raise NomNom to be a healthy adult! For now I've adjusted a few things in her home. This is a picture from today- gettn her grub on.
I have a 10 month old leopard tortoise and Ive noticed her eyes look strange to me. I'm always worried about being a good tortoise mom. I'm glad I found this forum! Could someone please look at my pics so i could get some helpful advice?
