Be gentle with the comments I'm learning as I'm reading here. I'm building a table Sunday. But for now what do you think? Leopard tort less than a year old. I love in az. I don't have a coil light. I do bath her every other. I keep that heat lamp on 24/7.

Nice humidifier and beautiful tortoise! Looks great!

Have you thought about using cypress mulch or coco coir instead of the bark? The bark will get molding pretty quick once that humidifier kicks in.

I tried to say the word at ace and Home Depot and I had the look like a bird flew into a window. They had no clue. This is girl is just basking in the humid air. I feel like I can sleep tonight. Her original environment was mind blowing awful, I just didn't know what I got myself into. This whole forum has really improved her health and well being. I shamefully listen to the know it all guy at the pet store. Yup dont do it. Read that, thanks. :)
Tom NomNom is thanking you the most!

The heat lamp is on 24/7 you said.. Does this mean your tortoise never gets dark nights?

A great way to supply heat at night without any light is using a CHE (ceramic heat element).

Welcome to being a leopard owner on TFO :)

I think you're doing a great job. Once you get the table built, use something other than the large bark that you now have for substrate. Those pieces are pretty hard for a baby to walk on. Coco coir or cypress mulch would be easier, plus you can keep those moist better than the large bark.

Also, I would change the soaking from every other day to daily.

Thanks at first having a turtle and taking care of it was easy. Feed it and water it. I couldn't figure out why my mom never let me have a turtle when I was younger. Then I starting reading this forum. Holy crap I loose sleep worrying about her now. It's not a difficult to keep a turtle it's just the load of knowledge in keeping your turtle healthy. Does anyone have an opinion if leopard torti should have a buddy? Is she ok with it just being her?

tortoises do not usually get along that well unless it's matting season and the other tortoise is female. Two males do not get along AT ALL, your tort wont mind being alone. (in the wild they spend all of their time alone)
