Breaking Bird News/Maryland: Just spotted our first Ruby-Throated Hummingbird for the season. A fast moving male in & out, stopping at our water fountain for a drink & bath, over to the Bleeding Hearts for a sugar stop. Then up & away. Did not stop at our Hummmer feeder….🤷‍♂️

25 years....commitment...very cool! Did she get ahold of fruit? Are you Suuuurrrreee you didn't slip her some mango as a birthday treat???? LOL (I paid for that mistake years ago)

Baby needs wet.....lots of wet with dry available for basking.....keep him warmy in the mid 80's till the real talent(I'm a hack) chimes in, or you can conveniently rush right over to the water turtle section and see....DD has fantastic little ones & his setups are simple and effective

I love staying up, so I envy you BD.....that's my prob....I enjoy being awake.

Yeah, usually up around 1am...on a good night we'll make it to 3. I go to bed at 6-7;30.

(grumbling...ms cathie posted a bunny, with poop....grrr, lol)

I promised Tom many years ago I will
NEEEEEVVVER serve any kind of fruit to a tortoise.
I learned MY lesson when I fed her a whole cantaloupe AND a half of a honeydew!!
It is a scene I will NEEEVER. forget!!!

Like a Hitchcock movie….
Instead of blood spatter it was …..
Well ….
I think you get the idea… 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for the advice about the new baby I somehow now acquired over night.
I will be getting her an entire set up come this weekend..

A Beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Funny, when Kerry & I were out last weekend, I spied new 12or14 oz sized HB feeders for $1.25 at the dollar store and got two....I've been cleaning my old ones for years but they eventually leak. My big glass one is good but I like the little ones too. Put 1 little one out but haven't seen any birds yet.

Chef bought found herself a zoo............LOL Good luck with all that.......LMAO
I have seen what happens to women who become known in the neighborhood as the "animal lady"....we have some here and they seem pretty cool to me, they just have a LOT of creatures roaming.

And well thanks to all the reminders, I got off my butt and did something. My hummingbird feeder is up. It was so nice when I went outside to do it. There was 2 pairs of doves eating all the excess seed. One pair isn't afraid of me anymore and let me get a bad picture.😊IMG_20230420_172425209.jpg

We all know who was in mind when this picture was taken, don't we class?

I love the tech that lets us do this. When many of us were young, there were the folks around you, period. You had friends and family vie Long Distance(remember when those words denoted $$ and shame from the parental's?).

Thank you soooo much!
My “friend” decided I’d be a better parent .
So now I have a tortoise a turtle and a wee snail 🐌.
Yikes!
What did I do in a past life to get 🔩ed
In THIS life?????
😭

I can’t even care for myself! 😳
Be careful with the snail around the tortoises. Every year we have a bunch of snails. Opo ends up with parasites and I have to give him panacur. We get the little snails and I am sure Opo was eating them. My vet agreed with me. Last 2 years hardly any snails and Opo didn't get sick. This year I am seeing more snails, so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Beautiful Ray! Those are monsters.

I fed 80% of the pads you sent & have others rooting right now.
All of these pads have 1/2 inch to inch long roots. I’ll pot them up in the next few days.
Mark I washed those pads off. If you see a little white dot or a white foamy spot. That is a mealybug. The white stuff is their waste. Just wipe down each pad with rubbing alcohol. I treated all my plants twice a few months ago. I just want to make sure none got your way.

Not sure, somebody gave us the plant. The roses were red if that helps 😆
A typical one for Florida is fortuniana. I had to look up the spelling because spell check said I was wrong. I wasn't. 😜 It was an interesting subject. Most roses are hybrids because they are a weak plant especially in Florida. I would like to find the one I ended up with. It was a vine type with white flowers and very pretty.🤗

Mine was a vine type also. Rose's got a little bigger than a golf ball.

When the Rose plant dies you'll be left with whatever plant it was grafted on. They do that so you can have survivability of the Rose plant. Mine was very old so I don't have a high probability of finding the plant now. It even smelled good too. I saw by Google there's several different plants that they use for Florida roses. If the Rose was bought in Florida it's likely to be one of those.

I can't believe what I saw at my favorite grocery store today. It was very large aloe vera leaves in the organic veggies section at so much a pound. Next thing you know they'll have spineless prickly pear again.🙃

Uh oh, Kerry is gone for 3 w/e in a row, you remember that Erie check right, and look what I just found relisted on Craigslist;

An 18 foot coffin wrapped up to look like a racing Hydroplane!

I can write the Story for them now;
" A 65 year old Pasadena man was killed today when he lost control of his newly acquired ......."

Come on, we all know this is how it would end. LOL It's the only reason I don't own a ZX14r motorcycle, the only reason.

Naw, we're gonna pass, I'd rather have a "kerry" & apparently, she has told me that I cannot have both!

One of my brothers friends was a world champion powerboat racer. He had a few near misses but thankfully survived to a good age.
