Hi everyone
I am new to tort keeping and wondered if you can help. I bought a tort of 2 years of age on Thursday and since I got him he has stayed in the corner of his cold side of his cage.
any advice appreciated.

Thank you for your advice. I just want him to be healthy. How many days should I give him to come out
no worries that was just advice I gave you as my tortoise was in the same situation and I calmly handled him and he started acting like a normal little tortoise I advise you wait for someone a bit more experienced to tell you how long you should give him mate

I can advise your starters giving them a very small piece of fruit like a bit of strawberry or a bit of watermelon it is there favourite not to much, the reason for this is because they love it and it could get them interested in there leafy greens
In general it can get them interested in eating again

This is him and all he has done
They become more active when they are warm the last thing I can suggest is that you get him out the corner put him near his heat light Not directly under just put him near it so that the heat can help warm him up and that really should bring him to life mate and he should start moving about

Handling will have the opposite effect. They don’t want to be handled, and to them, there is no such thing as being “calmly handled”. Leaving them alone to settle in is much better, and any handling will just stress them out further.

Your substrate needs to be switched to fine grade orchid bark, cypress mulch, or coconut coir. What you have now is too dry.

What are your enclosure temps? Basking, cool side, and night? Can we see pictures of the whole thing?
