So I have a pipped egg with a head visible [emoji846] now his front foot is out as well, is there anything I do? Meaning bumping humidity or should I mist him? I have his egg in another container on damp paper towels til he fully emerges. Any idea how long it takes to fully emerge and for the other eggs to start following him? I'm sure it's not far off just curious. And then when he's out and yolk is absorbed I can put him in a little water correct? Box turtles are half water and land right? Sorry guys very stoked

Congrats...it can take days even up to a week before it fully leaves the egg. The yolk sac should shrink pretty good within 2-4 days and then fully absorbed within 1-2 weeks. Good luck!

SO PRECIOUS!!!!!
Thank goodness human births don't take this long....;)
My daughter's birth took almost 3 days, she got stuck lol. The little turtlet is doing great. He's still sitting in his egg. He's pulling his head in his shell and opening and closing his cute little mouth so I think he's doing great [emoji4][emoji846]

He turned his head away from the big human with the camera talking to him [emoji4] he's doing great. He has a talk sac still but it's not very big. Maybe size of a nickel. He's taking his time. Is it normal for him to not open his eyes yet? Or is it a problem? I was guessing it's normal since they hatch in the dark and don't need their eyes until they leave the nest. I could be wrong. I haven't seen his eyes open yet. He opens his mouth kicks his legs turns his head away from me and he even turned his entire egg away from me yesterday cuz I was bugging him I guess lol. So happy to finally see a baby I rescued. It gives me the warmest feeling knowing I tried to help and he survived. 2 other eggs seem to be cracking open as well. Very slowly. Questioning one of my eggs for viability but not tossing it til it explodes. IMG_20190907_110921887_TOP.jpeg
