Hi, and welcome to the forum!
A great place to start is www.russiantortoise.net - there is a list of edible plants on there, as well as lots of good info, a care sheet, etc.
I've used the XL cement mixing tub in the past, and it was a good temporary solution.
You will need a heat source, depending on how you hang the basking light, it should be a 100W or a 75W bulb, but you want to make sure the temperature right under it is 95-100 degrees F.
For the UVB light, I use an 18" under-cabinet light fixture (GE brand) that I get at Home Depot for $12. Here's a link to the one I have: http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-18-in...dercabinet-Light-16466/100384834#.UlgwXFCsiSo and I use the following UVB light: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000255OS6/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20 (either the 5.0 or the 10.0 version).
I am glad you are on here and asking questions. We all have to start somewhere, and we all have room to learn!
