I know I've been posting a lot lately, but I have yet another question.
I use a Terra cota water bowl for my tortoise. It's always worked fine... until recently. I replace the water practically every day, but it has been mysteriously evaporating. The dirt around the bowl is constantly muddy and grouse and I'm getting sick of refilling the water just to have it slowly evaporate throughout the day.
Why is my water suspiciously disappearing into the dirt? I know Terra Cota water bowls are made to absorb moisture, but isn't this a little ridiculous to end up with an empty bowl each day? Ginger sometimes doesn't even touch the water before it's gone.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
