Pipping?
I think one of my November 10th eggs are alive.
This egg has tiny triangular shaped holes poked through from the INSIDE.
I also see something dark in there.
It has remained unchanged for about 12 hours now
Oh yeah Ed it's a coming. Congratulations and about time too. :D. Can't wait to see the color.

No change yet.
I get my new incubator Tuesday and then I can transform my closed chamber back into use for babies.
He can do this in slow motion.
Slow works better for me.
It was one of the four eggs that candle solid black.

Very exciting. I move my pipping eggs to a brooder box. Small container with a wet paper towel on bottom, then dry on top of that. I create a little nest to keep the egg steady. The high humidity helps soften the shell. Prevents eating the medium when they get out. I put the brooder box in the hatchlings enclosure. You could just keep it in the incubator, if you have room. Of course I hatch leopards and Russians, not RF. I am assuming it is the same. Mine occasionally take 2 to 3 days to get out.

There are 3 others marked 11,10,16.
And 14 others from later on.
This is one of the extra tiny eggs that I was sure wouldn't hatch.
There has been additional ripping of the egg membrane since this morning.

No change in the egg in almost 24 hours after some more inner membrane tearing.
I guess he's inside chilling and absorbing the yolk sack?
It looks like he made a hole so that he could breathe, and is now happy to just stay inside there.

Monday. No change from last night.
That closed chamber/incubator has the light on 24-7.
I wonder if he needs the dark?
I don't have it set up to regulate heat without the florescent light. With it off, the temps go down to 74 or 75. Fine for a tortoise, but not for egg hatching.
Hopefully my new incubator will show up tomorrow and I can things corrected.

I put a towel over my incubator to stop light going in through windows, he will take a while to come out though.
Maybe put him in a little tub with the lid loosely on top to block light.

I placed him in a tall sided bowl on the damp, warm towels (inside the make shift incubator)so that if he hatched when no one was around, he can't climb out.
But the bowl is semi transparent. I'll look for a solid bowl.
If and when my incubator comes in. Tomorrow? I'll get the closed chamber going and get the light on a timer.
He seems 100% happy to just sit inside that shell now that there is an air hole.

They do just sit there for a while. Nothing to worry about.
