      Hi,

I am not a very experienced keeper. I would like to know if indian star tortoises lay eggs without the presence of a male around. Kindly let me know.

I believe yes, but they will be infertile if she has never been with a male.

I've struggled to get some, everyone has sold out of prickly cactus who I contacted. I've just fetched myself 3 pads back from spain, now I'll try and grow them on. You can buy pads from the ebay I think. I fetched 2 pads for them to eat now too. My torts love it, 1st time they have had it. I should ring around your local garden centres, you may get lucky.

    Hi there everybody.

I and my mrs (dawn) have got at the moment 10 Redfoot torts, and 6 homeana hingebacks.

We have 3 juveniles of 6 months old. They are doing well, eat and pooh regular. 1 of them has an extra scute so im guessing she's a female that was incubated at the higher temperature.
We also have 4 adult female redfoots and 1 adult male cherry head and 2 adult male northerns. Some of these have some pyramiding due to neglect from there previous owners. Hopefully I can put that right as they are not yet fully grown. Sizes range from 7.5 to 10" shell length. The male being the smallest. All have there own individual characters, all seem happy and well now. We've manage to get them all tamed up and feed from our hands now. These live in a large indoor area providing them with all there needs.
